What’s Being Built and Upgraded for the 2028 Olympics
LA28 will rely on existing venues, avoiding new permanent stadiums, while accelerating major transit upgrades under Metro’s “Twenty-Eight by ’28,” including rail extensions, bus rapid transit, and improved LAX connections. Los Angeles County is coordinating with all 88 cities on planning and contracting. Compton is included through regional planning and economic opportunities but has no venues planned. The 2026 State of Black Los Angeles County Report is currently in development
The 2026 State of Black LA County Report is underway, building on the 2023–2025 findings. With Black aging and caregiving as key focuses, May 17 is now Black Elders Appreciation Day. The Compton Chamber encourages churches and local groups to engage in shaping this report by hosting forums, providing feedback, and developing solutions that address disparities across all areas of Black life in Los Angeles County.
