As summer 2026 ends, Compton faces major decisions on its 2045 General Plan, permanent City Manager, vacant City Attorney position, unresolved Public Safety Commission leadership, infrastructure spending, fiber-optic construction and economic development. The Chamber calls for stable leadership, public participation, transparent contracting, stronger safety coordination and measurable results that benefit Compton residents and locally owned businesses.

A USC–UCLA analysis estimates that 5,975 homeless people could be affected near selected LA28 venues. The Compton Chamber estimates the true population exposed to Olympic-related clearing pressure may reach 25,000–35,000 once tourist districts, beaches, hotels and transportation corridors are included. Compton and other Gateway Cities must have a seat at the planning table before displacement decisions are made and communities outside the Olympic spotlight are forced to absorb the consequences.
