Youth Opportunities Across Greater Compton

Discovering the Organizations Helping Shape the Next Generation


One of the greatest strengths of the greater Compton area is the number of organizations investing in young people every day. Across our community, dedicated nonprofits, educational programs, sports organizations, and community leaders are creating opportunities that help young people build confidence, develop new skills, discover career paths, and prepare for successful futures.


Whether a student's passion is athletics, technology, entrepreneurship, music, leadership, skilled trades, or the arts, there are outstanding programs already making a meaningful difference.


As the Compton Chamber of Commerce continues expanding its community initiatives, there is tremendous opportunity to strengthen relationships with many of these outstanding organizations. Rather than duplicating existing programs, the Chamber hopes to help amplify their impact by increasing awareness and encouraging collaboration across the community.

💻 Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship


SoLa Technology & Entrepreneurship Center

A nationally recognized model introducing youth to technology, entrepreneurship, entertainment, career exploration, and community engagement. Through innovative educational programming, SoLa helps prepare students for careers in today's rapidly evolving economy.


Algorithm & Flow

A nonprofit dedicated to teaching coding, software development, and digital literacy to Compton-area youth. The organization helps students develop practical technology skills while introducing them to careers in computer science.


Google Code Next (Inglewood)

Google's Code Next program provides high school students with opportunities to explore computer science, artificial intelligence, game design, and software engineering through hands-on learning and mentorship.


TouchUp / Compton Tech Week

Organizer of Compton Tech Week and numerous technology-focused events that expose students and young professionals to careers in technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the digital economy.


The Makers Hub

A collaborative makerspace where youth and adults gain experience in fabrication, engineering, product design, skilled trades, innovation, and entrepreneurship through hands-on learning.

Compton Sheriff's Youth Activities League (YAL)

The Sheriff's Youth Activities League combines recreation, sports, mentoring, leadership development, life-skills training, and after-school programs that strengthen relationships between youth and law enforcement while building confidence and responsibility.


Elevate Your G.A.M.E.

Serving hundreds of Compton youth annually through mentoring, leadership development, educational support, and character-building programs designed to inspire lifelong success.


SoLa I CAN Foundation

Provides college readiness programs, scholarships, mentoring, entrepreneurship education, culinary pathways, technology exposure, and career development opportunities for students across South Los Angeles.

MLB Urban Youth Academy – Compton

Much more than a baseball and softball training facility, the Urban Youth Academy develops leadership, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, academic achievement, and character while creating pathways to higher levels of competition and education.

Color Compton

Color Compton celebrates the city's culture through photography, storytelling, exhibitions, youth arts programs, and community engagement while helping young people express creativity and strengthen community pride.

Looking Ahead


Instead of creating every youth program ourselves, the Chamber strives to become the central place where families discover sports leagues, workshops, scholarship opportunities, technology camps, leadership conferences, career fairs, arts programs, competitions, internships, mentoring opportunities, and community events offered throughout the greater Compton region.


Helping families connect with existing opportunities may be one of the most valuable community services the Chamber can provide. By serving as a trusted community connector, the Chamber hopes to help organizations reach more young people while making it easier for families to find programs that match their children's interests, talents, and aspirations.


Compton is fortunate to have an extraordinary network of organizations dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, and community builders. Working together, these organizations demonstrate that investing in our youth is one of the strongest investments we can make in the future of our city.
