The Compton Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that the 23rd Annual Compton Veterans Stand Down will return this fall as a three-day overnight event dedicated to serving the men and women who have served our nation with honor and sacrifice.
Veterans, their families, community organizations, businesses, volunteers, and supporters are encouraged to mark their calendars for September 26–28, 2026, as the Compton community once again comes together to provide meaningful support, resources, and recognition to those who have worn our nation's uniform.

The event will take place at the Compton Housing Authority campus located at 700 North Bullis Road in Compton, with doors opening at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
For more than two decades, the Compton Veterans Stand Down has grown into one of the region's most respected veteran outreach events, bringing together government agencies, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, volunteers, and community leaders with a shared mission: ensuring that veterans receive not only assistance, but also the dignity, appreciation, and support they have earned through their service to our country.
As in previous years, veterans attending the event are expected to have access to a wide range of services and resources, including:
Employment assistance
Housing assistance
Legal services
Medical and vision examinations
Mental health counseling
Social Security and VA benefits assistance
Workshops and resource referrals
Hot meals and refreshments
Clothing and hygiene kits
Haircuts and showers
Chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy services
And much more
The annual Stand Down is made possible through the continued support of numerous partners and sponsors, including veterans organizations, public agencies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, nonprofits, businesses, and community volunteers committed to improving the lives of those who served.
Participating organizations are expected to once again include valued partners such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veteran Peer Access Network (VPAN), AMVETS, For the Love of Our Veterans, the American Red Cross, workforce development agencies, and many other organizations dedicated to serving veterans throughout Los Angeles County.
This year's event carries an especially meaningful significance as it takes place during the 250th anniversary year of the founding of the United States of America. As our nation celebrates two and a half centuries of freedom, opportunity, and democracy, we are reminded that these blessings have been secured and preserved through the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of generations of American service members.
For that reason, the 2026 Compton Veterans Stand Down represents more than an annual community event. It is an opportunity for our community to honor those who helped defend the ideals and freedoms that our nation celebrates during this historic milestone year.
The Compton Chamber of Commerce hopes that this special anniversary will inspire greater attendance, greater community involvement, and greater sponsorship support than ever before, ensuring that the veterans who served our great nation receive the assistance, appreciation, and respect they have earned.
As America celebrates its 250th birthday, Compton will do its part by standing beside those who stood for America.
Additional information regarding volunteer opportunities, participating organizations, sponsorship opportunities, and event programming will be announced in the coming months through the Compton Chamber of Commerce website and social media channels.
