Compton’s 2025 Small Business Grant Program offered qualifying businesses up to $25,000 to support growth, preserve jobs, and strengthen the local economy. The Chamber encourages the City to publish a complete results report showing the funding awarded, businesses served, selection process, use of funds, jobs retained or created, and lessons learned. Public reporting would document the program’s impact and guide future business assistance.

New housing investments are reshaping Compton Boulevard, including 60 townhomes at Concord Court and 75 affordable and supportive apartments under construction. But housing alone will not revitalize the corridor. Compton must connect new residents and construction spending with local businesses, jobs, contractors, occupied storefronts, safer streets, public improvements, and a coordinated strategy that converts development into lasting economic value.

Compton’s Economic Development Strategic Plan could shape business growth, investment, jobs, commercial-corridor revitalization, and entrepreneurship for years to come. The Chamber invites the City and its consultant to share preliminary findings, participation results, priority industries, corridor strategies, and the implementation timeline—and encourages local businesses to share their needs, obstacles, and priorities.
