The Compton Chamber is far more than a local news feed. Our coverage includes original opinion and analysis, business and member features, jobs and hiring, education, veterans, community success stories, culture, history, public safety, youth and sports, human-interest stories, resources and regional developments relevant to Compton. Nearly half a million Facebook views reflect a platform built to inform, connect, advocate for and celebrate our community.

CUSD’s partnership with Everytable and its move toward freshly prepared meals may give the district a valuable head start.

Compton has approved a major public safety initiative featuring 74 Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras and 37 PTZ cameras supplied by Flock Safety. The program aims to help recover stolen vehicles, support criminal investigations, and potentially deter dangerous activities such as street takeovers. As implementation begins, residents can expect ongoing discussions about effectiveness, transparency, privacy safeguards, and measurable public safety benefits.
