Los Angeles County high school students can gain paid, hands-on exposure to behavioral-health careers through the Youth Mental Health Academy. The five-week program offers research, mentorship, college preparation, and stipends, with local participation supported through Compton Unified. Learn who qualifies, how students apply, what is known about selection, who funds the program, and the education, earnings, and hiring outlook for related occupations.

The Compton Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrates Chamber member EntreNous Community Empowerment for earning a prestigious grant from the Jacques Pépin Foundation. More than financial support, this award is a national recognition of the Impactful Bites Hospitality & Culinary Training Program and its life-changing work in workforce development. It reflects the excellence of organizations in Compton and the growing impact they are making far beyond our community.
