Another major warehouse fire erupted in Vernon on July 30, just 6–8 miles north of Compton, sending thick black smoke into the sky and prompting a massive emergency response. Coming only weeks after the Boyle Heights warehouse fire, the incident highlights the importance of fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and regional coordination. As a major logistics hub, Compton must continue investing in public safety and resilient infrastructure to protect residents and business
