The Compton Chamber of Commerce have historically held the "Candidate Forums" for participants vying for seats in City Elections in the Council Chambers. The purpose of utilizing the Council Chambers has been for the voting senior community, the disabled and those voters who lack transportation to be allowed the opportunity to view the Candidate Forum from their homes on Channel 36; and for ” live stream” capabilities.

On February 12th, the Council voted 3-2 to confirm the use of the Council Chambers. All material were printed; notices sent to the Candidates and the community at large; and flyers were placed throughout the community. On Tuesday, February 26th, (Two weeks before the Candidate’s Forum); Councilperson in District 3 overturned her vote; and moved  the venue to Dollarhide Community Center.

At the present time, all materials, flyers, etc., are in the process of being re-printed for distribution.

The Compton Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Candidates Forum on Saturday, March 16, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM.
