AI-powered Flock cameras do more than read license plates: they record vehicle make, model, color, distinguishing features, location and time, creating searchable travel records. More than 120,000 cameras reportedly operate across 49 states. Senator Josh Hawley has opened an investigation into data access, retention, sharing, errors and misuse, warning that Congress never authorized this nationwide surveillance network.

Ed Zitron argues that today’s AI boom is built on unsustainable economics: more than $1 trillion in infrastructure spending has produced limited revenue, unreliable products and no true intelligence. Zitron predicts the bubble could begin unraveling by mid-2027, with consequences extending far beyond Silicon Valley.
